Chapter 1

Rajvansh Mansion..

The first rays of dawn slipped through the arched windows, scattering soft gold across the silk-draped chambers. The mansion stirred awake with a quiet majesty — sunlight glinting off gilded mirrors, crystal chandeliers shimmering like frozen stars.

From the courtyard came the rhythmic murmur of fountains, their waters dancing to the morning breeze perfumed by roses and mogra.

Velvet curtains swayed like royal banners as attendants moved silently through the marble corridors, their footsteps echoing in harmony with the distant call of peacocks. The air carried a serene hush, as though even time paused in reverence of the place’s grandeur.

The mansion poised only filled with soft footsteps of attendants getting the breakfast table ready..

Once they were done family members started arriving

First to enter was Rajshree Devi(Rajmata and the mother of Uday Rajvansh)

She came and sat on the chair only reserved for her no one else dared to sit on that chair.

Then came Uday Rajvansh (The king of Udaipur) besides him was his wife Milakshi Rajvansh (The Queen of Udaipur) they came and greeted good morning to their mother and sat on their respective seats..

Just then Rajshree asked Milakshi..

Rajshree: Aarohi kha hai bhau??

At her words, Milakshi’s calm expression changed. She placed her spoon down with a faint clink and sighed,

Pata nahi, maa sa… shayad ab tak soyi han vo, humne kitni baar kha hai par kuchh sunti hi nhi han vo. Bas apni duniya mein khoyi rehti hai!”

Rajshree placed her spoon down, her calm eyes narrowing slightly.

Abhi tak soyi han vo,” she said, her voice cold yet composed. “Tumne apne laad-pyaar se bigad rakha hai usse, Milakshi.”

Milakshi’s face stiffened. She lowered her gaze, trying to hide the sting those words left behind, Aisa ni hai,” she murmured softly.

Rajshree cut her off, her eyes unwavering. “Aisa hi hai, Milakshi. Har cheez ki ek seema hoti hai — ab jao, bula ke lao Aarohi ko. Subah se poora ghar jag gaya hai, bas vo hi reh gayi hai.”

Milakshi pressed her lips together, hiding her unease. “Jee, maa sa,” she said softly and rose from her chair. Adjusting the edge of her dupatta, she turned and quietly walked out of the dining hall, her anklets making a faint sound against the marble floor as she headed toward Aarohi’s room.

She was flashing towards her room with rage building inside her but still maintained to keep a false softness in her features in order to envelope what's racing inside her..

Milakshi walked through the long corridor, her steps measured and composed. Anyone watching her would think everything was fine — her chin held high, her expression calm, as befitting the lady of the house.

But beneath that calm surface, anger simmered quietly. Every word of Rajshree maa sa still echoed in her mind — “Tumne bigad rakha hai usse.”

Her hands tightened around the end of her dupatta as she walked faster.

Sab meri galti,” she muttered under her breath, her eyes burning with unshed tears and frustration. “Uske har kaam ka hisaab mujhe dena padta hai…”

Yet, as she neared Aarohi’s room, her steps slowed. She took a deep breath, trying to mask her anger behind that familiar softness — the mask she wore every day between being a mother and a daughter-in-law.
